(SOLVED) The Art of Quoting – APA 7th Edition

Find a short passage from one of the papers you are discussing in your Literature.  Build a frame around that quote using the model outlined in last week’s  “The Art of Quoting.”

In other words,

  • create a signal phrase to introduce the quote that tells us who said it and what his/her area of expertise is,
  • put quote marks around the quote (or double indent if the passage is longer than three lines),
  • be sure to punctuate correctly with an APA in-text parenthetical citation;
  • then, write a brief, reader-friendly summing up of the quote,
  • and finally, add a sentence or two that links the quote to your own thinking on the subject.
