The paper is a 5 page reflection on one of the three global health issues: HIV, Tuberculosis, or Malaria. The idea of the paper is to put myself in the shoes of a global health specialist whose duty is to critically examine and discuss the most difficult aspects of prevention and management of the illness I have chosen. Im required to think broadly about global policies, funding, advocacy, ethics, and highlight any controversial issues, if any, about the health issue. Im also required to present some existing solutions to the problem. I have the option to specify a specific country or region for examples. Lastly, I should finish my analysis with a clear articulation of my own ideas on how to address the global health issue I chose.
The rubric requirements:
1. A concise and creative title, a concise intro of the health topic, issue of interest and it’s importance
2. A concise statement of my immediate reaction to the global health issue, as well as highlight what stuck out to me regarding the topic
3. A well written thesis statement (s) – the main challenges
4. A clear explanation of the key problems and any previously discovered issues, carefully written in distinct paragraphs with supporting evidence from cited reference sources.
5. Conclusion: A recap of my main points and a statement of my recommendations
6. A works cited with 8 or more recent sources and APA style
