Organisation and methodology
With this project, the students are encouraged to write down personal insights and
reflections on their experiences in the course.
The necessary steps to do this are as follows:
1. Each student will generate their own personal profile based on the self-assessments
done in class (Appendix 1).
a. Objectively explain the results obtain through the self-assessment
inventories done in class. What do your results say? Which traits does your
profile have?
b. Subjectively reflect about your results. How do you feel about those results?
Are you aligned with them? Were they a surprise?
2. The student will have to prepare their personal / professional development plan.
The steps to prepare this plan are as follows:
a) The student will need to present 2-3 professional objectives to be achieved
by the next 3-5 years. Follow the SMART system for defining those goals (see
Appendix 2).
b) Reflect about your strengths and weaknesses for achieving the defined
goals. What and how much you need to improve to become or to reach
those defined objectives? Which skills, knowledge, abilities and behavioral
traits you need to work on to be successful upon your goals? Explain that
area.
c) Based on these self-assessments and discussions above, the student will
have to develop an action plan (Development Plan) in order to be able to
achieve the goals stated above following his/her reflection on part b.
